Product information "LS-CU MSR"

The Exzellenz LS-CU speaker cable features MSR technology (magnetic current reflector). Background: Neighboring conductors influence each other and cause an uneven current distribution. This is known as the proximity effect. With the patented MSR® technology, there is a fine copper strip between the conductors which shields them from each other and reduces the proximity effect. An even current distribution is important for homogeneous music reproduction.

The conventional twin cable design offers plenty of space for large cable cross-sections and provides an excellent basis for good sound. Under normal conditions, using conductors made of high-purity copper is the next-best choice after silver. Compared to cheap CCA (Copper Coated Aluminum) in particular, copper has a significantly better conductivity and is also mechanically more resilient.

Stranded wire is a tried-and-tested conductor design. In the Exzellenz LS-CU cable, the strands consist of 651 x 0.07 mm (2.5 mm²), 1050 x 0.07 mm (4.0 mm²) and 1575 x 0.07 mm (6.0 mm²) wires that are "braided" together. The advantage of this design lies in the mechanical flexibility, which increases with smaller diameters of the individual wires.

Description

The Exzellenz LS-CU speaker cable features MSR technology (magnetic current reflector). Background: Neighboring conductors influence each other and cause an uneven current distribution. The advantage of this design lies in the mechanical flexibility, which increases with smaller diameters of the individual wires.

The Referenz LS-1002 has 4 conductors, each with 37 concentrically stranded wires. The cores are arranged in a double symmetrical fashion and specifically configured in the CC-297 design to keep the inductance low and the resistance linear. The larger cable cross-section ensures excellent and controlled bass reproduction and a high level of efficiency. Polyethylene (PE) already boasts excellent electrical properties for audio, video and digital cables. The foaming process creates an air content in this dielectric, which further diminishes any annoying battery-like cable capacitance. The reproduction gains even greater brilliance and spatiality. A layer of solid PE protects the foamed PE from mechanical influences.

Inductance is a critical behavioral feature of a cable, causing resistance to the signal flow, rising with the frequency. Multicore architectures, such as that of the LS-1002, reduce this effect and bring more precision and punch to the sound. With conventionally stranded wires, the individual strands run chaotically through the conductor. This leads to undefined contact points, which can result in degraded signal transmission. In contrast to this, each wire in the Concentric Copper structures has a precisely defined position within the conductor. This enables homogeneous signal transmission and ensures crystal-clear audio reproduction.

The conductors of the LS-20 are made of high-purity copper. Under normal conditions, copper is the next-best electrical conductor after silver. Compared to cheap CCA (Copper Coated Aluminum) in particular, copper has a significantly better conductivity and is also mechanically more resilient.

The stranded wire design is a tried and tested conductor design in the hi-fi sector. Each conductor consists of 50 x 0.25 mm strands that are "twisted" together. The advantage of this design lies in the economical production and the mechanical flexibility, which increases with smaller diameters of the individual wires.

The conductor cross-section of 2x2.5 mm² forms the foundation for a dynamic and powerful sound. The polyethylene (PE) insulation of the LS-40 has very good electrical properties. Compared to PVC, it halves the annoying battery-like capacitance of cables. The reproduction gains in brilliance and spatial quality. The PE network jacket protects against mechanical damage and serves as additional insulation.

The Referenz LS-603 with its 6-fold multicore design has remarkable electrical and acoustic characteristics. The large, effectively usable cable cross-section ensures excellent and controlled bass reproduction and a high level of efficiency. The in-akustik DUO PE II insulation uses foamed polyethylene to reduce the capacitance load on cables. This serves to give music reproduction greater brilliance and spatiality.

In addition, a layer of solid PE protects the foamed PE from mechanical stress and the multicore design minimizes any inductance which can impede the signal current. This results in a more precise and powerful sound reproduction. The high-speed waveguide uses a polyethylene core to minimize the skin effect. This means that the effectively usable cross-section remains the same for all audio frequencies. The result is a balanced, broad sound spectrum that enriches your listening pleasure.

LS-204 Micro AIR
Referenz Micro AIR Quality: Referenz Air dielectric
Like the flagship model, the LS-204 is also based on Micro Air technology. The difference lies in the multicore architecture. Compared to the XL version, the LS-204 has four instead of six Concentric Copper conductors. This cable boasts an agile character and was primarily developed for slim floorstanding speakers with smaller bass drivers. The Referenz LS-204 Micro AIR is available as a single-wire version with BFA bananas or spade lugs, or as an Easy Plug version.

LS-204 XL Micro AIR
Referenz Micro Air Quality: Referenz Air dielectric
The new Referenz Micro AIR series is a further installment in the success story of the Micro AIR technology: As with the already legendary AIR Helix cables, air is also a central component of the insulation concept in the new Referenz Micro AIR technology. Due to the low speaker impedances, however, low line resistances and a low inductance are also very important for speaker cables. For this reason, the Referenz LS-204 XL Micro AIR uses a total of 6 concentric copper conductors in addition to the air dielectric. Thanks to this multicore architecture, the magnetic fields of the positive and negative conductors overlap and neutralize each other. This significantly reduces the inductance of the cable, which guarantees unaltered transmission of the audio signal over a broad frequency spectrum. Due to our approach, the LS-204 XL has a balanced sound character with precise timing, on top of a solidly controlled foundation. This cable is primarily designed for full-size floorstanding speakers. Sound, of course, is always subjective and depends not least on the overall constellation of a hi-fi system. In the end, the decisive factor is your own personal listening impression.
