For his third album on Mack Avenue, five-time GRAMMY winner Billy Childs assembled an all-star quartet consisting of trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, bassist Scott Colley and drummer Brian Blade. Under the title "The Winds Of Change", the pianist and composer presents five brand new original compositions as well as arrangements of Chick Corea's "Crystal Silence" and Kenny Barron's "The Black Angel". These selections expand the group's creative boundaries and inspire a collective new sound that pays tribute to both jazz legends and artistry. The outstanding performance of Billy Childs and his quartet was recognized with the coveted Grammy Award 2024 in the category "Best Jazz Instrumental Album".
