The brothers Jerry and Jimmy Vivino belong(ed) to sought-after session musicians and producers in the American blues scene. Their services have been taken by numerous blues musicians such as Son Seals, Johnnie Johnson, Hubert Sumlin, Al Kooper, Shemekia Copeland, Aaron Neville, Lucky Peterson, Dr. John, Buddy Guy and Odetta, among others.
However, the Vivino Brothers rarely recorded albums together. With Chitlins Parmigiana, however, they recorded something special by fusing urban blues, jazz funk and soul. Although the album spreads a party atmosphere, the ballad 'Fools Gold' is goose bumps pure.
An enjoyable album that illustrates the Vivino siblings' diversity.
The album by the Vivino Brothers, which is still legendary today, was no longer available in mint condition for over a decade. Now Chitlins Parmigiana is emerging again - as a Double-LP.

Grammy nominated guitarist, composer, and producer, Chuck Loeb has had a musical career that spans over four decades. He was one of the most sought-after jazz recording artists and composer of over 250 published songs.
In 1984 Chuck Loeb joined the all-star group Steps Ahead. In 2010 he replaced Larry Carlton at Fourplay.
In 1988 Chuck Loeb started his solo career and was initially under contract with the innovative label DMP. During this time the album Life Colors was recorded.
Life Colors is certainly one of Chuck Loeb's best albums. It is very reminiscent of his days with Steps Ahead. It's packed with fusion-driven songs with incredible dynamics. The melodic riffs make this album a very special one.
Chuck Loeb passed away in 2017 at the age of 61.

Thom Rotella Band

In the 80s and 90s Thom Rotella was one of the absolute cracks of the fusion guitar. Under the name Thom Rotella Band, he released his debut album featuring Wayne Pedzwater (bass), Mark Minchello (keyboards) and Clint deGanon (drums) on the renowned US label DMP.
What stands out beside the sound delicacies: No effect-demanding solo trips, the musicians work in the service of the pieces. Precise, experienced and yet they convey so much fun in playing that the fusion spark is ignited.
At HiFi fairs the title ‘Friends’ was very popular demonstrating Wayne Pedzwater's gorgeous bass solo - concise, to the point, cracked. Perfect for testing the loudspeakers.
