Ain´t Nothin' But … The Blues Company
Blues Company Blues
Format: CD
They have been on the stage for over 38 years, have performed on more than 4,000 occasions in 14 countries and have released more than 26 albums – these figures highlight the impressive achievements of the Blues Company and demonstrate that the musicians gathered around the mastermind Todor Todorovic have had an enormous influence on the blues in Germany. However, far more impressive than the statistics is the manner in which Todorovic, known by everyone simply as “Tosho”, celebrates the blues with his buddies on stage. Tosho lets the guitar fly with his pieces that bubble with elegance, while his unmistakeable voice gives the songs their distinctive expression. The Blues Company has always been open-minded to new techniques. They were among the audiophile pioneers, who in the late 1980s brought out the first blues CDs, and later the first SACDs and 5.1 surround recordings - so we were the second Blues band in the world. But one thing was still missing in our releases: a live in the studio recording with an audience. The trick with a Silent Concert is that visitors, unlike at normal concerts, do not appreciate the music through a PA, but through headphones. Thus, they are able to receive perfect stereo sound anywhere in the room and can even adjust the volume themselves. However, only a relatively small circle of people can experience this concert enjoyment. For technical reasons, the number of listeners is limited to a maximum of 100. The auditorium was equipped with sofas, chairs, beanbag chairs and floor lamps, and the band did not play on a stage, but rather dispersed in the audience. The sound engineer was able to create an individual in-ear monitor mix at the highest tonal level for each of the musicians involved as well as for the stereo mix for the audience. This culminated in the Blues Company presenting itself at ist very best: with crisp Chicago blues and gentle ballads, with crackling guitar solos and a blasting brass section, with many rock and soul additions, and with highlights from concerts past. The audio recording literally vibrates with vivacity. For the band, as well as for the audience, this was a great, exciting, unforgettable experiment.

Hot And Ready To Serve
Blues Company Blues
Format: CD
This band is hot. Very hot. That is quite something. After all, the Blues Company from Osnabrück, Germany is not a bunch of wild youngsters, but a team of seasoned men with a lot of experience and know-how: Blues Company simply stands for the longest-lived and most successful blues band in Germany. After their 2005 coup "The Quiet Side Of Blues Company", where Todorovic and Titre gave their beloved Fender guitars a breather, it's now "Back To The Roots": On Hot And Ready To Serve, Toscho & Co. are back what they have always been known and appreciated for: powerful, modern, guitar-driven blues is served here. As the cover art clearly indicates, this music is a ‘gumbo’, a New Orleans stew, highly nutritious and spicy with all sorts of ingredients that grow and thrive in the blues' great garden. Driving 50s rhythm & blues and boogaloo stand alongside funky music, profound ballads and Tosho's tribute to the great Freddie King. The American film producer and screenwriter Ian Gurvitz, who has already won several awards, knocked on the door of the Blues Company and its record company in autumn 2006: he wanted the song "Blue And Lonesome" from the album "Keepin' The Blues Alive" as the title motif for his film ' LA Blues'. At least that makes it clear: The Blues Company is an international company with an internationally successful product.

Old, New, Borrowed But Blues
Blues Company Blues
Format: CD
As everyone knows, Germany has various capital cities: Berlin is clearly the tourist capital, Frankfurt is the financial capital, Munich regards itself as the secret capital, Bonn still as the former capital, Stuttgart as the car capital and Mainz as the wine capital. However, there is also a blues capital and that’s called – Osnabrück. There’s no denying it: according to semi-official estimates, there are 2.4 electric guitars and 1.7 harmonicas for every resident in Osnabrück. An obvious question: how did it come about that Osnabrück is so blues-oriented? Some say, it could be the weather – because the summer there always presents itself like the cold and rainy summer of 2016 in the other parts of the country. However, the most plausible reason appears to be the fact that for the last 40 years the guitarist, song-writer and singer Tosho Todorovic has been active in Osnabrück with his Blues Company – perhaps the most varied, definitely the longest lasting, German blues formation, that has excited, encouraged and influenced countless other musicians during these same 40 years. In 2016, Todor ‘Tosho’ Todorovic received the first Lifetime Award ever presented at the BiG-Blues-Award for his achievements in blues music in Germany. The Blues Company celebrated the band’s 40th birthday with a special concert in the SWR Funkhaus in Mainz. Old, New, Borrowed but Blues – the theme of the evening quickly became the title of the album. They thrilled the audience with a set-list consisting of ‘old’ Blues Company titles, new and previously unreleased songs composed by Tosho Todorovic and ‘borrowed’ tracks, i.e. cover versions. The Company were supported by the Soul Sistaz Seda Devran and Maria Nicolaides on vocals as well as by the Fabulous BC Horns Uwe Nolopp and Volker Winck. Musicians: Todor ‘Tosho’ Todorovic - Guitar, Lead Vocals Mike Titre - Guitar, Slide Guitar, Harp Arnold Ogrodnik – Bass, Keys Florian Schaube - Drums Uwe Nolopp – Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Euphonium Volker Winck - Sax, Clarinet Seda Devran - Backing Vocals, Percussion Maria Nicolaides - Backing Vocals, Percussion

Take The Stage
Blues Company Blues
Format: LP Audiophil
Recorded live at the Bowers & Wilkins Rhythm’n’Blues Festival in Halle, Germany Take The Stage features the XXL line-up of the Blues Company surrounding the band leader Todor 'Tosho' Todorovic. Asked about studio vs. live album Todor 'Tosho Todorovic' expresses his more than 40 years of stage experience: If we as a Blues Company do have the choice between a live or a studio album, we will always opt for a live album, as our music lives from the interaction of the band members. The Blues Company is first and foremost a live band. The stage is our living room. Live recordings have more energy, are authentic and unadulterated and document the musical condition of the band on this special evening. And then there are those 'magic moments'. There are moments and entire concerts that make you float on cloud nine. The stage sound sounds fantastic. The audience motivates you to perform at your very best. The band grooves without ending. If a live concert is also recorded, you are the happiest person on earth. And that gig in Halle had several of these magic moments. • DMM • 180 Gr. Virgin Vinyl

United Nations Of Blues
Blues Company Blues
Format: LP Audiophil
The German town of Lahnstein is well-known to Tosho Todorovic, bandleader of German-based Blues Company. Ever since the first edition of Lahnstein Blues Festival in 1981 he has performed at the local town hall repeatedly. And in 2010 he was presented with the festival’s Blues Louis Award by Tom Schroeder, the grey eminence of the festival. But two things were different in 2022: First, it was the XXL line-up of the Blues Company that entered the stage, meaning that instead of four there were a total of nine musicians present; and secondly their set list contained songs that have been previously unreleased. And what about the title of the album? Well, that refers to the fact that the family or personal roots of the nine musicians do not only lie in Germany, but also in former Yugoslavia, the Caribbean, Poland, Greece and Turkey. Last, but not least this is what Todorovic has to say about the new album: ‘For me it’s rather live than in the studio because the contact to the audience is very inspiring. As opposed to the matter-of-fact atmosphere of a recording studio.’ • Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) • 180 Gr. Audiophile Virgin Vinyl

Sound experts of the most sophisticated high-end hi-fi equipment regularly make use of the CDs of the Blues Company to be able to demonstrate the impressive brilliance and performance of their sophisticated speaker boxes and finest amplifier technology… After an absence of 3 years from the studio, the Blues Company prove that they have not missed out on anything in their new album ‘X-Ray Blues’. 13 songs that vibrate with vitality in a mix of proven, powerful modern Chicago blues with trips into the Mississippi delta, into folk blues and funky soul blues. Numerous guests fortify the nutritious musical menu. Although the album has quiet and temperamental moments, it is always able to carry the listener away with its intensity. Toscho even created the cover picture. During a tour through the former Yugoslavia, he was granted permission at the airport in Belgrade to photograph his Ibanez whilst it was being scanned.
