UHQCD stands for Ultimate HiQuality CD. Unlike conventional CDs, UHQCDs are not pressed from polycarbonate but are cast from a photopolymer and cured with UV light. To protect the softer photopolymer, a further layer of high-purity polycarbonate is applied as scratch-protection. The combination results in a significantly reduced reflection of the laser light inside the CD and an unmatched precise edge transitions between pits and lands of the CD. UHQCDs are 100% compatible with regular CD players. Musically, there is a sound image reminiscent of analog master tapes.

“I wanted to write exactly the album that the world needs now, an album full of confidence and safety," says TOKUNBO. The singer and songwriter, head of the extremely successful acoustic soul jazz combo Tok Tok Tok (awarded with five German Jazz Awards) from 1998 to 2013, continues the history of folk noir with Golden Days, her third solo record. TOKUNBO no longer needs to prove that she can easily stand on her own two feet - after all, she has already won the International Acoustic Music Award and won bronze at the Global Music Award.
With Golden Days, the musician delivers a warm mix of folk and jazzy pop. An album like a golden autumn day. The eleven tracks were created 2020 when TOKUNBO not only had to cope with this unpredictable situation, but also had to completely reorganize her life as a young mother: she conjured up the new songs from memories, thoughts and wishes. Music for the soul, earthy, luminous and gentle, which wraps itself around the listener like a soft blanket and lets him see the beautiful in this often so dark-looking world.
A touch of melancholy, the TOKUNBO's Folk Noir on the previous albums still remains. Golden Days opens a new chapter for the artist, shows a new facet of her work. The positive look ahead and the gentle look back underline the filigree guitars, shimmering soundscapes and unconventional rhythm arrangements. TOKUNBO's warm, clear voice transmits a smile that comes from the heart.
The production is airy, clear and with the courage to reduce: the album was mixed and tonally refined by industry expert Marc Ebermann, so that even hi-fi fans get their money's worth.
