Der Tango geht in die musikalischen Extreme: von extrem akzentuiert, auch aggressiv und dissonant bis zu extrem melancholisch und gefühlvoll. Er bietet besondere musikalische Freiheiten: Die Melodien müssen rhythmisch verändert und mit eigenen Ideen und Phrasierungen erweitert werden.
2006 gründeten die Geigerin Christiane Holzenbecher und die Pianistin Sarah Umiger das Ensemble Tango Sí! mit Karin Eckstein am Bandoneon und Israel Vázquez an der Gitarre. Im Unterschied zu vielen anderen Gruppen, die unter Tango nur Piazzolla verstehen, beschäftigt sich das Ensemble intensiv mit der traditionellen Tango-Stilistik.
Ihr Debüt-Album ¡PRÉPARENSE! ist eine unkonventionelle Mischung von eigenen Arrangements, traditionellen Tangos sowie Tango Nuevo und nimmt die Zuhörer auf eine abwechslungsreiche Reise in die Welt des argentinischen Tangos mit.
Somit schaffen die Musiker, die große Bandbreite des Tangos aufzuzeigen: von klassischen argentinischen Tangos in Originalarrangements (Prepárense, A Don Agustín Bardi, Payadora, Un Placer) bis klassische argentinische Tangos in eigenen, neuen Arrangements, geprägt von erweiterter Harmonik, mehrstimmigen, auch dissonanten Ansätzen und der Behandlung des Kontrabasses als Melodieinstrument (Nocturna, Romance de Barrio), über neue Wege des Tangos und unbekanntere Stücke Piazzollas (Revirado, Concierto para Quinteto, Aire de la Zamba Niña).

Das Album ist Teil der Aufnahmen, die anlässlich der Konzerte des Fonè Music Festival Piaggio 2021 gemacht wurden. Die von Giulio Cesare Ricci organisierten Konzerte fanden im Piaggio Auditorium im berühmten Museum in Pontedera statt.
Auch für diese Aufnahme wurde eine ‚Feldeffekt‘–Aufnahmetechnik verwendet, natürlicher Klang, ohne Verwendung von Equalizern, keine Klangexpansions- und Komprimierungssysteme ….. All dies, um den Hörer wieder in sein Heim-HiFi-System zu bringen, das Live-Effekt, als wäre er beim Konzert anwesend. Keine Bearbeitung. Alle Titel auf diesem Album werden so wiedergegeben, wie sie gespielt wurden.

However, those who expect furious dances, a never-ending carnival of joie de vivre and lightness will be more disappointed than an audience eager for political statements. Marta Gómez is a song poet who tells stories of ordinary people's lives ("Dona Luisa", "Quien se acordará"), of a black boy who wishes he were white ("Negrito"), and of the virtues of silence , which is behind every word we say ("Entre Cada Palabra"). The serenity that radiates from her art of interpretation really works wonders. Those who devote themselves entirely to their songs, undisturbed by disturbing noises, experience facets of lived life that are not hidden behind platitudes and sensations.
The spectrum of rhythms, which Marta Gómez fans out with simple brilliance, ranges from Colombian cumbia and bambuco to flamenco and son to candombe from Uruguay and Argentine zamba. One is ensnared by her voice, carried away by the looseness of the band and wishes, like the little fish in "Pececito de agua", to be able to entrust his secrets to a great river that carries them into the world across all spatial boundaries.

Die brasilianische Samba-Sängerin Elza Soares (82) ist mit ihrer markanten, kratzigen Stimme eine der swingendsten Darstellerinnen des Genres. For me a day without my bandoneon is unimaginable. I live and breathe each day anew with it, relates bandoneon master Raul Jaurena. Together with conductor and clarinettist Bernd Ruf they have performed as a duo since 2009, developing Tango Tales – tango chamber music for clarinet and bandoneon along poetic lines.
The special tonal combination of bandoneon and clarinet fills us with enthusiasm time and time again. From single to triple voice textures and thanks to their special shared harmonics the figures blend, contrast and at times combine with one another into a single instrument before once again resuming their unique individual roles. The duo is both the smallest and the most intensive form of musical collaboration, non-verbal communication and exchange.

Der brasilianische Dichter, Texter, Essayist und Dramatiker Vinícius de Moraes (1913-1980) wurde zu einer wegweisenden Figur der modernen Brasilianischen Musik und Literatur. Mit seinem langjährigen Mitarbeiter António Carlos Jobim (1927-1994) schrieb er Hunderte von Liedern. Ihre Kompositionen wurden zu echten Klassikern und gehen über das Bossa-Nova-Genre hinaus, da sie weiterhin von unzähligen Musikern auf der ganzen Welt gespielt und aufgenommen werden.
