Mein Vater und ich gründeten 1999 gemeinsam die Band unter dem Namen RedEye Band, wobei meine Mutter Heather als unsere Managerin fungierte. Mit meinem Freund und Nachbarn Andy Burt am Schlagzeug und meinem Vater Ken am Bass spielten wir in jedem Pub, Festival, Stadtfest, Sommerfest und Hochzeit, die uns buchten! Als mein erstes Album, Watching You, veröffentlicht wurde, spielten wir über 200 Shows im Jahr.
Rückblickend scheint es, als wäre alles in einem früheren Leben passiert, wie es so oft der Fall ist. Es fühlt sich an, als wäre es schon lange her, diese frühen Alben zu erstellen, und sie dienen perfekt als Momentaufnahmen jeder Phase unserer musikalischen Entwicklung. Berufsmusiker zu werden, war mein Traum – ein Traum, den ich mit zwanzig Jahren hatte. Das Leben eines tourenden Künstlers ist voller Höhen und Tiefen, Hindernissen und Herausforderungen, Lob und Kritik und ständiger Selbstverbesserung, um sich selbst und vor allem seinem Publikum gerecht zu werden. Es ist ein Leben, das ich wirklich liebe, und ein Weg, auf den ich sehr stolz und dankbar bin, heute, einundzwanzig Jahre nach diesem ersten Album.
Die Möglichkeit, eine Sammlung meiner frühen Arbeiten zusammenzustellen, hätte ich mir vor so langer Zeit nicht vorstellen können. Die Auswahl der hier beinhalteten Tracks war wie ein Wiedersehen mit alten Freunden: Jeder von ihnen bringt Erinnerungen zurück! Von unserem ersten Van (einem roten Ex-Postbus, den wir gelb gestrichen haben) bis hin zu den Lachern, Herausforderungen und Zielen, die wir unterwegs verfolgten… Ich erinnere mich an alles und jede schöne Erinnerung zaubert mir ein Lächeln ins Gesicht. Durch diese frühen Alben und die langen, prägenden Jahre mit Gigs und Tourneen, Aufnahmesessions, Reisen und Schreiben habe ich mein Handwerk verfeinert – etwas, an dem ich nie aufgehört habe, unermüdlich zu arbeiten. Ich hoffe aufrichtig, dass Ihnen das gefällt, was wir hier zusammengestellt haben, es hat viel Spaß gemacht.

BIG is the realization of a dream that has accompanied the British blues guitarist and singer Danny Bryant since the beginning of his career.
The dream of recording his songs live with a 9-piece big band was put into reality. The charismatic musician presented his songs to his audience at three exclusive shows in Germany and the Netherlands, supported by keyboards, bass, drums, rhythm guitar and a 4-piece brass section.
Danny Bryant performed songs of his latest three studio albums Hurricane, Temperature Rising and Blood Money, all re-arranged for a big band. Among were songs that were never been played live before, such as the title song of the 2014 album Temperature Rising”. Together with blues classics like the emotional As The Years Go Passing By (Otis Rush), the result is a high-tension mix of songs.
The concerts were recorded by Danny Bryant's producer Richard Hammerton, who was also responsible for the last three studio albums. The result is so brilliant that the album will be released in physical format as a double live CD and on vinyl on 21 April 2017. Danny will celebrate the release with three big-band shows in Belfast, Edinburgh and London at the end of April.
Danny: Recording this special live project has been a real labour of love for me. For a long time I have dreamed of hearing my songs placed in the context of a big band setting. Everyone gelled together so perfectly and the three shows that we recorded (the results of which you hold in your hands) were among some of the most enjoyable of my career so far. I can honestly say that I am more proud of this album than any project I have ever done.

Danny Bryant is pleased to announce the release of his highly anticipated new studio album “Blood Money” – released by Jazzhaus Records on Friday 29th January 2016.

Particular tracks like ‘On the Rocks’ is a homage to the late great Albert Collins, ‘Holding All The Cards’ is a tribute to Jimmy Reed, while ‘Unchained’ harks back to vintage Albert King Stax recordings.
The title track, ‘Blood Money’, was a song that Bryant had on the fire for several years. He just needed the right time and the right collaborator to bring the song to life. This particular song was specifically written with Walter Trout in mind, who was Bryant’s guitar mentor when he had a chance meeting with him at a concert when he was only 14 years old.
“I wanted us to share the song with Walter,” says Bryant. “I am really thrilled that he agreed to play guitar on the track. I think his contribution is truly stunning.”
Another highlight of the Blood Money recording sessions was the contribution from Mr Bernie Marsden. One of Bryant’s all-time favourite guitarists and singer-songwriters, Bryant invited Marsden to record a special ballad that Bryant had written entitled ‘Just Won’t burn’. The song was recorded in one afternoon and during the recording, Bryant got the opportunity to play Marsden’s famous 1959 Les Paul -‘The Beast’.

If you like your blues loud, raw and unconventional, then Marc Amacher is the just the thing for you. Those traits go a long way in defining this exceptional Swiss musician and were more apparent than ever on “Roadhouse” – the 2019 release with which he toured successfully in several European countries. Now, two years later, he's back with a new album and ready to conquer the international scene: Together with colleagues Norman Süsstrunk (bass), Dave Flütsch (drums) und Phipu Gerber (guitar), Amacher pushes the blues envelope on “Grandhotel”.
The title of the new album is symbolic. Two years ago, the singer, guitarist and songwriter was hanging out at the Roadhouse – that infamous, open-all-night joint at the end of the road where nobody asks any questions. Germany's premiere classic rock magazine ROCKS saw the album's "extremely intense" 13 tracks as an expression of Amacher's "undying love of the blues." A review on the website Darkstars.de praised Amacher's "raw, deep voice," the "cool guitars" and the excellent musicianship of the whole band. But more than anything, the straightforward, unfiltered live takes on Roadhouse were a surprise to anyone familiar with Amacher only through his earlier studio albums, where the production was much slicker, or through his appearances on the popular TV show The Voice Of Germany in 2016. (Contrary to his own expectations, Amacher reached the series finale.)
Now, Amacher's musical travels take him a bit further on up the road to the “Grandhotel”. The name suggests luxury and perhaps a return to his former "digni-fied" ways. But make no mistake: The broad range of styles on “Grandhotel” sounds nothing like a fancy dress evening in the ballroom of a five-star accommodation, but more like a free-and-easy rock'n'roll party in one of the back rooms.
The first thing served at this party is a shot of adrenaline: Thundering guitars and full-bore vocals juice up Amacher's version of the Motörhead classic "Stay Clean." The band continues in the hard rock vein with "Ride" (sounding much like Bon Scott-era AC/DC) but then make a definite turn into the realm of stoner rock, starting with the nearly eight-minute, sombre-sounding "Devil". Here, Amacher and second guitarist Gerber trade heavy licks, poised atop a solid rhythmic foundation built by drummer Flütsch and bassman Süsstrunk. "STFU" – similarly distorted and psychedelic – leads
into one of the album's experimental highlights: The spaced-out "Berlin" evokes im-ages of a storm cloud in which the ghosts of Howlin' Wolf and Junior Kimbrough are hovering about.
Still, this is followed by a menacing (and convincing) reinvention of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus," leaving one to wonder for a moment if Amacher has chosen “Grandhotel” to take a conscious step away from his blues roots. But the impression is only temporary: The remaining songs on the album are all blues-based, from the minimalism of "Judgement Day" und "Rocket Man Blues" and the jazzy "My Way" to "Diving Duck," which shows off Amacher's skill – already apparent on Roadhouse – in taking familiar blues standards of the past and turning them into something new.
As the party nears its end, we're invited to stretch out on the sofa and chill out to "Rocket Man Blues (Reprise)" … two chords that alternate endlessly deep into the night – carrying the listener to far-off places – until somewhere around dawn, they slowly fade away.
"I've never aimed to be the fastest guitar player on earth or the best at copying a song note for note," says Marc Amacher. "I've always wanted to do my own thing." If that is his ultimate goal then his stay at the “Grandhotel” has brought him one step closer to achieving it. Amacher is no copycat. His new music is not generic blues, nor does it fit conveniently into any other common category of rock music. It is merely the next stop in the journey of a musician driven by his own curiosity – one who'd rather enter unknown territory then go down a path worn out by previous generations.

Der Sänger/Gitarrist Shawn Pittman stammt eigentlich aus Oklahoma und zog mit siebzehn Jahren nach Dallas, Texas, wo er die Booker T Washington High School of the Performing Arts besuchte. Timo Gross, one of the best songwriters between blues and rock (Wasserprawda), has used the two years since his award-winning CD “It´s All About Love” (Bluesnews) to redefine and refine his musical perspective. The title “Heavy Soul” reflects both the power and the burden of the soul. There are 10 songs on the album, packed in the heaviest and most insistent grooves he has produced in his career. Some of the songs have been influenced by world events that have occurred since the start of recording sessions in May 2015.
On the song “Why” – originally dedicated to a deceased friend – Gross invited over 40 colleagues, friends and neighbours to sing in the studio. The song is a statement calling for greater humanity and respect. “Spanish Boots”, which Gross wrote together with the Irish musician Tony McLoughlin, describes a murder during the Irish civil war that the protagonist is forced to witness. Heavy Soul also includes songs such as the Leadbelly classic “Gallis Pole”, the acoustic “That Something” the New Orleans-style “One-Way Ticket” or the straightforward “Time Ain’t Tight” that has been pimped with modern sounds. Friends of Gross such as Kosho, guitar (Söhne Mannheims, Xavier Naidoo), Marius Tilly, guitar or Jens Skwirkblies, keyboards (Lake, Ian Cussik) also make guest appearances on the album.
As always, Timo Gross has a lot to say on Heavy Soul and plays his blues with an earthy, unfussy virtuosity. His smoky, expressive voice lies his soul bare and gives the songs a magnificent depth. With Heavy Soul Timo Gross has created a modern and highly relevant album.

Recorded as a power trio, the new album was produced by Richard Hammerton (Manic Street Preachers). The nine songs showcase the evolution of Bryant as both guitarist and songwriter. The album bursts with power-fueled originals, groove-driven up-tempo songs, and soulful blues ballads.
Danny retreated to the rural solitude of the county of Cornwall in the southwest of the UK to record the new album. It was just like time travel, says Danny. Since there was almost no phone reception or internet connection, I spent between 15-18 hours a day concentrating on nothing but the music.
The difference to the previous studio album Just As I Am (2010) is based mainly in the production. Says Danny - The songs are the result of hard work and have gained considerable complexity. This is evident not only in the melodic title track, but also with the ballad Can`t Hold On, not to mention the funky-bluesy Greenwood 31 – a song that harks back to a similar urgency in the style of Jimi Hendrix mixed with the attitude of Lenny Kravitz.
Inspired by American rockers including John Hiatt and Bruce Springsteen, Bryant looks back on some of his career highlights. Reflects Danny - Recording the live album Nightlife (2012) was a milestone. Over the past few years we’ve constantly toured Europe, and in doing so, we have broken new ground both musically and geographically.
The results are evident from the reaction from the audiences. In the beginning, people were primarily coming to the concerts to see a young guitar player, says Danny, but these days I think they’re coming because of songs, voice and overall performance.
