A Decade Of The Mad Axeman
Michael Schenker Hard Rock
Format: CD
A Decade Of The Mad Axeman is devoted to the ten years between 2007 and 2016 which saw Michael Schenker burst with musical creativity once more, composing dozens of exceptional songs. Although he worked with many different musicians during this era, all compositions are unmistakably 100% Michael Schenker. 2007 saw Michael Schenker rise like a phoenix from the ashes and return to his musical roots on his new MSG release »In The Midst Of Beauty«. The team consisting of vocalist Gary Barden, with whom Schenker composed all twelve songs on the album, ex-Whitesnake bassist Neil Murray, Toto drummer Simon Phillips and Deep Purple keyboardist Don Airey brought back to life the spirit of the 1980 debut album »Michael Schenker Group«. In 2011 Michael Schenker, an artistically restless musician who continues to redefine himself and his music, put together a new group supported by various guest musicians. Filled with dynamic power, energy and inspiration, Schenker entered a new phase of his life with Temple Of Rock. He himself referred to it as a new level of existence that allowed him to enjoy life more than ever before and to reap the joys of his previous development. He released three studio albums and two live productions under the Temple Of Rock banner. Michael Schenker had succeeded in enlisting two former Scorpions members from the »Lovedrive« era for this new band: Francis Buchholz on bass and Herman Rarebell on drums, as well as erstwhile Rainbow frontman Doogie White and Wayne Findlay on keyboards. Michael Schenker surprised everyone in 2016 with a very special live release, recorded in Tokyo. The outstanding German guitarist had recruited former MSG singer Robin McAuley, Graham Bonnet and Gary Barden for a series of joint performances, as well as his former allies Chris Glen, Steve Mann and Ted McKenna. What Michael Schenker presented live on stage together with this line-up can only be described as a Fest for his fans – which is why he christened this new constellation of musicians the Michael Schenker Fest. Featuring: Don Airey, Gary Barden, Francis Buchholz, Wayne Findlay, Chris Glen, Steve Mann, Robin McAuley, Ted McKenna, Neil Murray, Simon Phillips, Herman Rarebell, Elliott ´Dean` Rubinson, Chris Slade, Brian Tichy, Michael Voss, Pete Way, Doogie White Special Guests: Michael Amott, Graham Bonnet, Rudolf Schenker, Jeff Scott Soto, Leslie West

Fest - Live Tokyo International Forum Hall A
Michael Schenker Hard Rock
Format: CD
35 years have passed since the legendary MSG concert Live At The Budokan. Like a miracle Michael Schenker returns to Japan with his past original singers from the '80's to celebrate the Michael Schenker Fest with Barden, Bonnet and McAuley at the amazing Tokyo International Forum. 5000 fans witnessed an anthology moment of quintessential hard rock music of the highest calibre. It’s a miracle that after all these years, something like this took place with the original band members of MSG. Being able to go back to those days and celebrate the music is an exciting experience for the band, as well as for old and new fans. To being able to re-experience, and for the new audience to get a feel of what it was like, is incredibly enjoyable. For Michael Schenker it was an amazing feeling to have all of his MSG Family from the '80's performing together and especially with Graham Bonnet, who he never got to play any concerts after their Assault Attack album that was originally released in 1982. Fortunately, being able to have the participation of original MSG members such as Gary Barden, Chris Glen and Ted McKenna being part of it, and somehow, to perform with Robin McAuley and Steve Mann again as well, was pretty awesome for Michael Schenker. Musicians: Michael Schenker – Lead Guitar Gary Barden - Vocals Graham Bonnet - Vocals Robin McAuley - Vocals Steve Mann – Guitar, Keyboards Chris Glen – Bass Ted McKenna – Drums

Temple of Rock
Michael Schenker Hard Rock
Format: CD
Michael Schenker ... a name which still inspires grins of delight amongst fans of first-class hard guitar rock! The list of his successes is an extensive one, after all. As a young man he lent his very special sound, together with his brother Rudolf, to the Scorpions, which later made the band one of the first real international hard rock stars from Germany. In the 70s, he similarly helped the British rock legends U.F.O. to their definitive breakthrough, turning songs like “Rock Bottom” or “Doctor, Doctor” into hits everyone knows. Briefly returning to the familiar fold of the Scorpions, Michael's collaboration helped create possibly their best their album, “Lovedrive”, which includes the perennial ballads “Holiday”, “Loving You Sunday Morning” and “Always Somewhere”. In 1980 it was time for the blonde guitarist to go it alone and form the first band of his own, the Michael Schenker Group, or MSG for short. This is where some of the world's best musicians gathered, cavorting with founding members such as Gary Barden, Don Airey or Simon Phillips. Not forgetting that no one less that Roger Glover from Deep Purple manned the production console for the first record. Since then, the three letters MSG have become a synonym for honest, hand-crafted and impelling premium hard rock. The band leader has consistently demonstrated the highest level of creativity and pluck, also presenting his elaborate compositions acoustically, with and without his band. His career hit a new peak last year in Tokyo, where he gave a sold-out concert to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the band, a concert which has been released by in-akustik as a double CD, DVD and Blu-ray disc. Now, after extensive touring, which also saw the band perform in the USA, and following a well-earned rest, Michael Schenker has returned with his group to add a new jewel to his creative work. And he has produced so many surprises that your senses will be overwhelmed! These surprises bring together Michael Schenker's past AND present perfectly. The old times are reflected in many of the guitarist's contemporaries from the various epochs. Names such as Pete Way, Wayne Findlay, Neil Murray or Chris Slade still represent the highest of standards and get the aficionados' heartbeats racing. One of the biggest treats is his collaboration with the former Scorpions drummer, Herman “the German” Rarebell, as well as his beloved brother Rudolf, on several of the songs. Michael has kept his promise of the “Schenker Brothers”. The fact that Michael not only plays the guitar on “Scene of Crime”, but also the flute as well, will raise quite a few eyebrows. Let's be honest: who would ever have thought that there would ever be another collaboration with Robin McAuley? “Lover's Sinfony” makes many a fan of their most successful period as the “McAuley and Schenker Group” feel that their dream has come true as well. And yet the list is even longer – Doogie White (former member of the Rainbows), Super drummer Carmine Appice or Elliott Tichy have also left their musical calling cards. Nevertheless, one name is missing in 2011, that being Gary Barden. The new voice on the microphone is, however, more than “just” a replacement, because during the last MSG tour, Michael Voss showed impressively just what he is capable of. The experienced producer and singer really doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, because his successes with Mad Max, Casanova or Silver, among others, speak volumes. And his voice is outstandingly suited to the punchy and compelling new tracks on “Temple of Rock”. Whether listening to the unadorned, melodious hard rock exemplified by “Saturday Night” or “How Long”, as well as bluesy sounds such as those on “With You” – the new album is largely distinguished by an immense enthusiasm for playing the guitar, its rich variety and the participation of international superstars. This album will finally induct MSG into the “Temple of Rock”! Michael Schenker says: “The Temple of Rock is within me where I create since I was introduced to the amazing invention of the distorted Guitar which is for me the most enjoyable and the best possible way to express myself. The Rock Guitar Sound that I fell in love with, mostly expressed as Lead break, is what I have nurtured and treasured all of my life. Combined with the infinite spring from within and the amazing musicians around me I keep expressing an ongoing development of my Art(Being). With Temple of Rock I am entering a new stage of my life, a new level of existence enjoying life more than ever, reaping the joy of all sorts of developments from the past. Also, it seems to me that collectively, with true expressive makers of Rock Music, we have been building the external Temple Of Rock for many years and have now come to the point of putting on the roofing and celebrating the almost completion of the Temple. All generations of this period are meeting all over the world on one stage it seems celebrating an Era of ‘Hand Made Rock’ which will never be the same again due to invention of new technology but of course New Temples and New Wonders will arise to enjoy expressions in new ways.”

Temple Of Rock - Live In Europe
Michael Schenker Hard Rock
Format: CD
At the ripe age of 15, after a very early start in his professional music career recording his first album with the Scorpions and after joining UFO age 17, Michael Schenker focused exclusively on lead guitar and pure self-expression. The second chapter in his career was focused on experimenting and developing his expertise on a more musical and personal level. With excellent musicians, friends and fans from all over the world, this live recording is part of this celebration. Michael Schenker sees himself and his music as a building block with the entire construction of the Temple Of Rock. The Temple Of Rock is almost finished, says Michael Schenker. The foundation was laid in the 60s by bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. The walls were then built by UFO and others in the late 70s. By the 80s it was further reinforced by the likes of the Scorpions, and many other noteworthy rock bands. There's not much new left to expect, but I am glad to be a part of this temple. continues Michael Schenker, It is an unbelievable fun and a great honor for me to share a stage with some of the world's best musicians and make music with them. A concert from Tilburg in the Netherlands was recorded in May 2012, which distinguishes itself noticeably from previous releases due to the line-up that includes Michael Schenker (lead guitar), Doogie White (vocals), Herman Rarebell (drums), Francis Buchholz (bass) and Wayne Findley (rhythm guitar, keyboards). In addition to this Tilburg concert, fans can experience extracts from London's 2011 High Voltage Festival with Michael Voss (vocals), plus awe-inspiring guest appearances from Schenker's friends and musical companions including his brother Rudolf Schenker (The Scorpions), ex-Journey singer Jeff Scott Soto, and UFO bassist Pete Way.
